SANTA FE — Senate Republican Leader, Senator Greg Baca (R-Belen), Senator Mark Moores (R-Albuquerque), and Senator Cliff Pirtle (R-Roswell) today successfully stalled another unconstitutional gun bill in the Senate Judiciary Committee. Senate Bill 116 would, with limited exceptions, make it illegal for a person under the age of 21 to purchase or possess an automatic or semiautomatic firearm, and magazines with more than a 10-round capacity. During the hearing, members of the committee raised concerns about the constitutionality of the legislation which ultimately stalled after motions to advance the bill failed.
