Nation’s Top Highway Official to Travel to New Mexico, Make Major Announcement to Expand Electric Vehicle Charging Network, Funded by President Biden’s Investing in America Agenda

At 1 p.m. MT Thursday, January 11^th, Federal Highway Administrator Shailen Bhatt will travel to Santa Fe, New Mexico, to make a major funding announcement to expand the electric vehicle (EV) charging network in New Mexico and other states nationwide. Administrator Bhatt will announce the first round of grants from the Federal Highway Administration’s Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant (CFI) Program, made possible by President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The projects will fill gaps in the national charging and alternative-fueling network, expand EV charging in rural and disadvantaged communities, and support President Biden’s goal of building a national network of 500,000 EV chargers by 2030.
