ALBUQUERQUE, NM – On Tuesday, April 4 at 1pm, Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) Cabinet Secretary Elizabeth Groginsky will provide an overview of the upcoming expansion of the New Mexico PreK program in FY24. The FY24 budget passed by the New Mexico State Legislature includes nearly $100 million for New Mexico PreK, which is projected to expand the program by 40 percent, adding thousands of new PreK slots in the coming year. This will constitute the largest expansion of the New Mexico PreK program in state history, bringing NM PreK to more communities, more children, more days of the year, and more hours of the day.
