KOAT 7 LAUNCHING CELEBRATION OF 70 YEARS BROADCASTING WITH SPECIAL FOCUSED ON STATION’S EARLY DAYS OF TELEVISION

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – KOAT 7 is embarking on a year‐long campaign to celebrate 70 years of broadcasting to the entire state of New Mexico. On October 2nd, of 1953, launching at 7:00 p.m., KOAT filled televisions with movies, variety shows and local news. The last 7 decades have presented constant change and evolution of the industry. From 15‐minute newscasts to today’s 40‐plus hours of news each week. Since that inaugural broadcast, KOAT has soared to become the leading source for news and entertainment.
