“We have to begin to balance what is happening to our children and our school systems, the needs of our state’s economy with the science of the spread of Covid.”
Santa Fe—State Senator Gay Kernan (R-Hobbs) took the opportunity today to share her concerns and many of the concerns of Hobbs, and Lea and Eddy Counties regarding the impact of Covid restrictions on the communities. She spoke to a member of the governor’s administration who testified before the Legislative Finance Committee (LFC) at its meeting in Santa Fe. Senator Kernan also received answers to her questions on how Southeastern New Mexico schools can get the green light to open their doors to students and how more of the economy can reopen. The answer she was told from Human Services Secretary Dr. David Scrase is “more Covid 19 testing.”
